Badger is an MVP developed in December 2021 that is primarily geared to recognizing different types of contributors in a DAO. The tool is being piloted by The DAOist, which uses it for the Governance of DAWN, their governing DAO.

In the back, Badges are a set of smart contracts that utilize the ERC1155 standard in combination with several control functions to create and manage Badges.
Each Badger deployment can have an unlimited amount of Sets of badges. All Sets in a Badger Deployment share the same controller, a multi-sig or DAO who controls the Badger deployment and maintains
Inside of each Set, an unlimited amount of Badges can be minted. Badges automatically adopt all characteristics from the Set they are part of.

In practice, Badges can be used for various use cases. At first, we focus on DAO to Individual relationships, but Badges can also be used to visualize DAO to DAO relationships.
